We couldn’t be more excited to share with you the launch of the new Bible Studies and Discipleship Program and the impact it will have on the lives of every girl as well as each person in her world!

We are thrilled to announce the new Alumni and Internship Program! As of this year, we have had two alumni who have graduated from the Kurandza Educational Program return as interns!

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that encourages people around the world to do good by donating their time, money, or voice to causes that are important to them.

We did it, Kurandza family. Because of YOU, we secured scholarships for 250 girls in Mozambique to go back to school! You helped cover the costs of school fees, books, uniforms, backpacks, supplies, and transportation to the now 250 girls in our education program so that they can continue their education for another year.

In October, we welcomed 50 new girls to our educational program for a total of 250 students! Thanks to the support of our #IStandForGirls sponsors, we are thrilled to be able to continue expanding our program and impact year-after-year.

If you’ve followed our work via social media or have partnered with Kurandza in any way over the past few years, you’ve undoubtedly heard us mention “safe transportation” as a key component of our overall goal (to provide an accessible and high quality education to girls in Mozambique).

Being out of the classroom for most of 2020 and even some of 2021 took a toll on their progress. They lost several months of learning time but despite being unable to attend school in-person, we made the best out of the situation and remain hopeful as we move forward.

Across Mozambique, especially in rural areas like the ones we serve, many people lack a birth certificate or legal form of identification. Oftentimes, children don’t know their exact birthdays or legal names which can present a lot of problems down the road.

The first day of school is always an exciting time, but this year, even more so than usual! After lockdowns, school closures, and uncertainty due to Covid-19, the girls in our program have safely returned to the classroom at last. We are thrilled to welcome them back!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: time for our yearly #IStandForGirls campaign!  For the third year in a row, we’re dedicating an entire month to raising awareness and funds for our schools (and other programs) in Mozambique and we have a feeling that this year will be our best yet. 

We want to give you an update on how are girls are doing in the education program that was made possible from the success of our 2018 #IStandForGirls Campaign. It is thanks to all of our sponsors, donors and Giveback Partners that we were able to raise funds for 200 girls in Mozambique to go to school this year! Before we give you an update on our how our girls are doing in school, we first want to remind you why Kurandza’s main focus is on girls education.

Last week, our girls at our partner schools in Mozambique had their first day of school. For many of the girls, it was their first day of school ever and they were so excited :) We want to share a quick recap of their first day of school so you can join in with the excitement and get to know the girls a little bit better!

It’s December and that means that school is out in Mozambique! Our first group of sponsored girls (from the 2017 #IStandForGirls Campaign) just finished their first sponsored year of school! A lot of the girls finished their first year of school ever, and some of the other, older girls, finished their first year of school without difficulty.

Can you believe the holidays are already right around the corner? It’s easy to get caught up in the festive rush of Christmas shopping and the addicting buzz of Black Friday deals. But as fun as these things are, don’t forget about one of the biggest opportunities of the year to make a huge difference with where you choose to spend your money.
