The Kurandza team is hiring an Executive Assistant

The Role: We’re looking for a passionate and professional Executive Assistant to join the Kurandza team and make a lasting, positive impact on the world! You will be working closely with Kurandza’s founder, Elisabetta, and will be responsible for providing administrative and logistical support to her and Kurandza’s team in the US and Mozambique. You will have the ability to work from home (or anywhere around the world) as this is a remote position.

Our dream Executive Assistant will have a love for making a difference, is a highly organized self-starter with a strong attention to detail, is an excellent communicator, and enjoys operating in a support role behind the scenes. You will be working with the Kurandza team, as well as be strongly self-motivated and able to get work done without close supervision. This is a part-time position (18-20 hours starting) with the potential of becoming a full-time position in the future.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Inbox support, management, and correspondence

  • Management of Founder’s calendar and scheduling

  • Donor and Partner on-boarding, management and support

  • Streamlining of systems, processes, and workflows

  • Overall support to Kurandza's Founder

  • Preparing tracking reports using spreadsheets and CRM

  • Assisting with project management

  • Participation in strategic planning meetings

  • Additional tasks and projects as needed

We’re looking for:

  • Experience with Squarespace, MailChimp, CRM and/or donor management systems

  • Strong writing, copy and editorial skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail (you can spot a spelling mistake or an extra space right away, and you always make sure names are spelled right!)

  • The ability to balance working independently while also being part of a team

  • An understanding of Kurandza’s mission and voice

  • Basic design and graphic design proficiencies

  • Great customer service— you love making people feel seen, heard, and cared for, and you want Kurandza’s donors and supporters to feel the same

  • An interest in making a positive impact through the work you do

A successful candidate will be:

  • Highly organized (you love creating spreadsheets and finding ways to make things more efficient and effective)

  • Innovative, creative thinker + independent problem solver

  • Available for 18-20 hours per week to start (with a flexible schedule)

  • Interested in growing with the organization (long term position), with more hours over time if the fit is right — we want someone who thinks of Kurandza as their home

  • Positive, enthusiastic and supportive of others — you are a YES person!

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with the following: Asana and/or Monday, Calendly, Instagram, Facebook Manager, Pinterest, Google Suite, and Google Analytics

  • Not required, but helpful if you speak Portuguese

  • Have spent time in Mozambique and/or other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa

  • Experience working for a conscious social good company is a plus

About Kurandza:

Kurandza is a grassroots 501(c)3 non-profit organization that uses education and entrepreneurship to empower girls and women in Mozambique to become leaders in their communities. Kurandza runs the yearly #IStandForGirls campaign aimed to raise scholarships for over 200 girls to attend school, and we provide these girls with holistic education programs throughout the year. www.kurandza.org.

About Elisabetta:

Elisabetta has been working in the social enterprise, international development, and NGO sector for the past 10 years. When she’s not at her home-base in the San Francisco Bay Area, she can be found traveling to Mozambique and other countries around the world. She loves chocolate, gardening, and being in nature. Her favorite things to do in her free-time are hiking, praying, and learning new languages (she speaks 5!). Elisabetta offers social impact consulting and loves to support like-minded women in growing their causes globally. She is looking forward to working with you!
