Choose how many girls youโ€™ll sponsor

Your sponsorship provides school fees, a uniform, a backpack full of supplies, tutoring, mentorship, and safe transportation. After making a contribution and getting matched directly with a student, your donation ensures she has access to education, a backpack full of school supplies, and a uniform for the entire school year.

$50 = education for one girl.

$100 = education for two girls.

$150 = education for three girls.

$250 = education for five girls.

$500 = education for ten girls.

Kurandza is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. A charitable tax receipt will be issued for your donation.

As a direct sponsor, you match directly with a child in Mozambique and become an integral part of their educational journey. If a particular studentโ€™s story inspires you, include their name when you donate, and weโ€™ll do our best to connect you if they have not already been sponsored.

  • Our Founder, Elisabetta, spent three years with the Peace Corps in Mozambique where she met women from the local community with whom she forged strong ties.

    We focus on this small region where our founder and local staff have expertise so that we can make a meaningful impact.

  • Yes, weโ€™re a registered 501C(3) charity. All donations receive a tax receipt.

  • We currently have 200 girls in the program and 4 boys.

    Because girls in our villages are not given the same opportunity to go to school as boys, we're trying to bridge that gap and give as many girls the opportunity to get an education as possible.

    Our focus is on girls, but we're passionate about ensuring all children can access quality education.

    When we have extra funding, we help vulnerable and orphaned boys who wouldn't have the opportunity to go to school if it weren't for donors like you.

  • As a sponsor, you will receive a charitable tax receipt, bi-annual updates on the impact of your giving, and a welcome packet with a photo of the girl(s) youโ€™re helping sponsor. Plus, the opportunity to be part of her journey through personal exchanges, such as an impact trip to Mozambique, allowing you to see firsthand the difference youโ€™re making.

  • Absolutely! If you have the means, please sponsor as many children as youโ€™re able to. Weโ€™ll be incredibly grateful for your generosity. Also the girls will be thrilled to know they have a (s)hero like you cheering them on and helping them get to and stay in school!

  • Our girls love getting letters from our sponsors! Letters are collected throughout the year and are sent to Mozambique. If the letters are in English, we will translate the letter for the girls. If you would like to address a specific age group or grade, please specify in the letter (for example: pre-schoolers, teens, etc). You can send your letters to:

  • If a girl graduates and plans to attend college, you will have the opportunity to continue your sponsorship to support her higher education. If not, weโ€™ll match you with another student in need, so your support continues to make a difference.

  • Occasionally, circumstances arise that means a girl must leave the Kurandza program. For example, a childโ€™s family may move out of the community to an area where sponsorship is not available.

    If the girl is no longer available for sponsorship, weโ€™ll match you with a new girl in need.
